Summary: Iceman, his body half shattered by a Sentinel's blast, recalls other time's he's been hurt just as four of the giant robots blast him to bits. Suddenly, Juggernaut flies in on Citizen V's V-Wing, using heavy weaponry and Klaw's sonic gauntlet (permanently attached in place of his left hand) to take out most of the Sentinels. The remaining robots are about to blast him when they freeze in place and shatter. Cain watches as water vapor rising from the Sentinels coalesces back into Iceman's body. Bobby now has incredible control of his molecules, allowing him to zip from place to place almost instantaneously. The pair enter the Black Womb facility, which is what Toad and Mystique were trying to infiltrate before they died. Bobby feels that they're missing something about this whole adventure, something in the details that Prosh was trying to show them. Bobby then contacts Jean, whose mind is inhabiting the body of Rachel Summers, which is being tended to by Kate Pryde. This is a timeline very similar to "Days of Future Past," but not exactly the same one. Just as they are starting to put the pieces of this puzzle together, they jump again. The five travelers re-appear on Prosh's ship. He's very disappointed in them and acts very belligerent. Mystique figures out that Prosh is the great menace threatening the Earth seconds before he attacks. While a battle rages between the sentient ship (who had been corrupted by the cosmic entities while inside the Celestial's body) and the mutants, Toad slips away and again sees technology familiar to him from his time on the Stranger's ship. However, he is blasted by someone off-screen, who says that of all of them, Toad has the least right to be there. Outside the travelers are being swamped by Prosh, but Mystique says that Bobby can stop him. Though uncertain, Bobby recalls how he used his powers in the future and freezes the entire ship. Prosh is satisfied, and grateful that he can no longer be used to destroy Earth. Just then Toad jumps in and says "It's not Prosh!" just before he gets zapped again. The others look up and see the Stranger himself, who states that they are now "ready." Review: Well, it all finally comes together here. There weren't any real revelations this issue, but the wrap-up did make sense. I wasn't so crazy about have Prosh be a forced villain. It was kind of, well, forced. But I suppose it does work. Once again, the art continues to really move this book along. It's very clear, with great facial expressions and action. I was a little surprised at the design for future Juggy: why no costume, and how did he lose his hand? Doesn't he have a personal forcefield? Isn't he invulnerable? Also, when he and Bobby enter Black Womb, the Klaw device is on the other hand for the whole page. Editing messup, I think. As for the rest, the most intriguing thing was the relationships between the characters. Juggy says "pretty cool, kid" to Bobby, Mystique and Jean fighting back to back, Raven calling Bobby "the pimple." It was all very cool. Obviously Mystique and Toad go back to being villains after this, but it was nice to see. The big question is what will happen to Cain: he seems to have grown a lot over this LS, in terms of realizing that he's squandered his gifts, and getting over his jealousy of mutants. I mean, to compliment Bobby, one of the original X-Men, whom he fought so many times over the years - there's definitely a new attitude there. I just hope that it's picked up by future writers and Cain doesn't go back to being a bad guy anymore.
Finally, the Stranger. Not your average X-Villain, but certainly one with some history there, unlike most of the other cosmic beings. I've got some mixed feelings about this, but I'm willing to wait and see how the finale plays out. This has been a great run so far, so I'm sure that FabNic will have something awesome planned to cap it off!
