Powers & History: Wolverine II was a Skrull shapeshifter who infiltrated the X-Men when they traveled back in time to witness the destruction of the Skrull homeworld by Galactus. He was conditioned to truly believe he was Logan, and was locked into Wolverine's form. (Wolverine, meanwhile, was delivered to Apocalypse) Once back on Earth, "Wolverine" began to foment the seeds of distrust between the X-Men and Professor X, which was in fact further justified by Xavier's own feelings that something was wrong. As Wolverine, the Skrull was so entrenched in his role that he even went after the Hulk for the Canadian government, as a follow-up of sorts to "his" first mission. Eventually the Skrull succeeded in getting the X-Men to temporarily disband, though a core group, including "Wolverine" was gathered to defend the Mannites from Death III, who was the real Wolverine. During the battle with Death, "Wolverine" went berserk, just as his template would have, and was killed by Death.
