Powers & History: Whiphand had the ability to turn his arms into extendable lariats of energy that may have had some neural disrupting function. Some time after his initial power manifestation, he was infected with a Brood embyro by Harry Palmer, a Brood queen. When the X-Men attacked Palmer in Denver, Whiphand defended him, attacking Dazzler II (who had previously been knocked around by fellow Brood Spitball) in a diner. He also snagged Longshot around the neck and immobilized him. As Whiphand was choking Longshot, he was puzzled to see the X-Man smiling. Too late, he looked backwards to see Colossus behind him, just before the giant X-Man snapped his neck.
