Powers: War II only served Apocalypse for
a short time, and not in conjunction with the Horsemen,
although he probably would have, had he remained under Apocalypse's control. Generally
known as The Incredible Hulk, he was brainwashed after Apocalypse removed some
shrapnel buried in his head and he was given a heavy whip with which to fight.
The weapon was not really necessary, as his gamma-irradiated body is nearly invulnerable
and he can lift over 100 tons. The Hulk can see astral forms, and leap miles in
one bound. he can also home in on a specific person wom he wants to find. While
under Apocalypse's control, he fought the Absorbing Man, and actually managed
to stop the Juggernaut. However, when he slammed
his friend Rick Jones into a wall, he broke his conditioning, ripped out his implants,
and left Apocalypse.

| Bruce Banner somehow became the gamma-irradiated Hulk at some point in the past. Hoping for peace of mind, he traveled to Australia to learn from the aboriginies. However, just after he was accepted into the aborigine tribe, the mutant forces of Exodus, governor of Australia, attack a group of humans living in the outback. Hulk intervened, and got linked up with AIM, its chief scientist Monica Rappacini and her daughter Scorpion II. Together they deposed Exodus and the mutant government and Bruce took over as President. In the process, Bruce began sleeping with Monica, who implanted a post-hypnotic suggestion into his brain. Scorpion then discovered that AIM was making cyborgs out of unwilling humans, and Hulk rampaged until Monica had Scorpion apply the post-hypnotic trigger. However, Hulk ignored the trigger and after fighting a giant cyborg shut down the program and retained control of Australia. He confronted Magneto via hologram and told him to stay away, and while he expelled AIM from the country he kept Monica at his side, realizing that sometimes you have to keep your enemies even closer than your friends.

The Hulk was eventually tricked into boarding a spacecraft that was sent into deep space, though it never reached its intended target of a deserted planet. Instead, the ship landed on Sakaar, a planet ruled by a cruel emperor who reveled in gladiatorial games. The Hulk was weakened by his ordeal and forced to fight in the games. Eventually he collected a group of Warbound warriors who helped him overthrow the evil Red King and bring peace to Sakaar's various races. He even married Caiera the Oldstrong, one of his chief lieutenants, and they were expecting a child. Unfortunately, the ship that brought Hulk to Sakaar blew up, killing Caiera and many others. Enraged, the Hulk gathered the survivors into a stone ship and flew to Earth. At this point the Hulk was so mad and so irradiated that he was able to exist unprotected in space, and weapons that once would have defeated him were useless.
Hulk came to the Xavier Institute to confront Professor X. Although Xavier had not been part of the decision to send Hulk away, Hulk demanded to know what his vote would have been. Before Xavier could reply, the X-Men and New X-Men attacked the Hulk, a battle that soon expanded to include X-Factor as well...
