Essex: Welcome class, to a lecture that is in large part a condensed look at my life's work, which is to catalogue the familial relationships of the mutant race, tracing genetic markers for increased power, and shaping the results, i.e., yourselves, in the process. Of course, I could not expect you to be able to understand the complexity of my work, so I have distilled the biological relationships into diagrams more commonly referred to as "family trees."
Each tree is organized such that members of each generation occupy the same horizontal level, so that siblings (and their mating partners) are on one level, and their children (1st cousins to each other) are the next level down. In addition, pictures of and links to overviews of each person are provided when available. You will note the progression towards more powerful individuals as generations increase, in no small part thanks to my own efforts.

Note: People from alternate realities are only included in these trees if they crossed into and operated in our timeline (e.g., Rachel, but not Scotty Summers). To indicate which spouses and children are from alternate realities, I have colored those sections of the tree in gray (no pun intended). However, the parent who is part of the family tree with the same relationships in our reality as well is not so colored. For example, Nightcrawler and Scarlet Witch are connected in an alternate reality via Nocturne (now active in Earth 616) and so are not grayed out on their own family trees, but are grayed out on their alternate reality spouse's tree.
