"Cross-Time Train"

The Cross-Time Train
Origin: The Cross-Time Train appears to have come from a reality in which Hitler won World War II and Britain was a Nazi state. It traveled to our England via one of Widget's portals.

Description and Specfications: The Cross-Time Train is for the most part a normal train, and would not be included in this course at all save for one major difference: It was powered by the steam of a female dragon whose chamber made up the engine car. The train was six cars long, and though it started off as a simple passenger train, over time and with use it was modified by Excalibur to contain sleeping cars, work areas and other amenities.

The Cross-Time Train
Relevant History: As mentioned above, the Cross-Time Train arrived in our reality via one of Widget's interdimensional portals. British police were stunned to find noted geneticist Moira MacTaggert inside wearing a swastika and proclaiming her allegiance to the Fuhrer. They soon realized that the train was "not from around here" when they found the dragon in the engine car and saw the logo "Reichsrail Englande" on the front. The W.H.O was called, and Excalibur arrived soon after the events of "Inferno." After a brief spat with the Lightning Squad (Excalibur's counterparts from the Nazi world), an agreement was reached to leave the train in our reality, since Phoenix III read the dragon's mind and found that it did not want to return with Nazi Moira, who had apparently abused it to this point. However, when the Nazis betrayed the W.H.O.'s trust and launched an attack, Phoenix III's defensive energy shield touched Widget and powered him up, causing the train to disappear, along with Excalibur, who nearest to the train.

Widget jumped the train into an alternate reality, and so began a series of adventures for England's superteam, as they tried to find their way home. Along the way, the train was festooned with graffitti, shot at, crashed on numerous planets (since the portals imparted kinetic energy and didn't always open at ground level), and generally abused. However, due to sturdy construction and helpful cross-timers, the train managed to stay in sufficiently good condition to get Excalibur home.

Months after returning to Earth, the train was still being used by the dragon as her lair. She eventually fell in love with Numbers of the Technet, and left the train behind when the Technet returned to their own world after a long hiatus on Earth. The abandonded train was then consumed by Widget as he repeatedly attempted to fashion a body for himself. He left the train a gutted husk, which was probably washed into the sea when Excalibur's Lighthouse was destroyed.
