Real Name: Everett Thomas

Status: Presumed deceased
Powers: Synch, much like the Mimic, took on the powers of any mutant in his vicinity, including any physical manifestations of mutancy. Everett could also use his "aura" to track other mutants. He seemed to be totally in control, and often knew how to use other mutants' powers better than they do themselves. An incredibly even-tempered young man, Ev refused to take revenge on human bigots from the nearby town, even after he was once beaten by them.

Everett was first located by Banshee and Emma Frost when they were on the run from the Phalanx and simultaneously trying to protect the neo-mutants found in Xavier's files. They narrowly saved Everett from the Phalanx and he helped them locate and save the other mutants who eventually became Generation X.

During his tenure at the Massachussetts Academy, Ev found himself the object of Jubilee's affections, though he never returned the feelings, apparently viewing Jubes as more of a kid sister. Months later, he began a romance with M, severely damaging his friendship with Jubilee. Unfortunately, the relationship was short-lived, as Synch was killed by a bomb set by Adrienne Frost in her abortive attempt to take over and/or destroy the school.
