Full Name: Stephanie HunterKitty went to Stevie's studio with her teammate Ororo, and immediately there was tension from Ororo's side, as she had become a mother figure to Kitty and Stevie appeared to be unknowingly intruding on that relationship. Later, when Kitty asked to bring Stevie along to a Dazzler II concert, Ororo realized she was being unfair to Kitty's teacher, and resolved to be friendlier towards Stevie.
When the concert was disrupted by Caliban, Ororo and Kitty were forced to reveal their powers to Stevie. After that, Stevie became more involved in the lives of the X-Men, and by the time the New Mutants were formed, Stevie was a regular at the Mansion. At that time, she began to receive threatening phone calls, and was actually abducted and beaten. Led by Wolfsbane, the Muties discovered that it was one of her human students, who had a crush on her, but whose own father beat him and made him confused about expressing love.
Following Professor X's departure, Stevie's presence at the Mansion lessened, and following Sinister's destruction of the school she returned to her studio full-time. She was present at the Mansion, however, for the Genoshan raid that captured the New Mutants, but escaped herself. Following the so-called "X-Tinction Agenda" while the X-Men were in the Shi'ar Empire, Stevie was accosted by Colossus, who was under the control of the Shadow King. Stevie was possessed and came to Muir Island under thrall. She was liberated by the returned Professor X and the X-Men, and returned to Salem Center. While there she assisted in tending the wounded during the "X-Cutioner's Song" imbroglio, and helped counsel Sunspot on his newly increased powers.
Recently, Stevie (re-?)opened her Salem Center dance studio, and once again is giving lessons to the Institute's students.
