Codename Etymology: Pronounced sī'rən [From Old French sereine]; In Greek Mythology; nymphs who would lure sailors to their death with their singing.
Powers & History: Like her father Banshee, Siryn has a sonic scream that allows her to fly, knock people out and pulverize things. When she was born, Banshee was overseas on an Interpol mission, and when her mother died shortly thereafter, Theresa was taken by her cousin Tom, who cared for her as if she was his own daughter, but never revealed her existence to her true father. Terry spent a lot of time in preppy boarding schools, and eventually found out about Tom's criminal activities. For a time, she even joined him, going head-to-head with Spider-Woman I among others, but soon realized that it was very wrong and quit. Eventually, she was reunited with Banshee, and while the two are not really close, they have a good relationship. Theresa had a drinking problem, which started in high school, but recently seems to have kicked the habit.

After leaving Black Tom, Siryn was involved with the "Fallen Angels" group of mutants, and had a fling with Multiple Man. (Months later she discovered that this Madrox was a rogue dupe who was reabsorbed and the real Madrox had only borrowed memories of the event). She returned to Muir Island and was then involved in the Shadow King's attempted takeover, during which time she was forced to do hateful and evil things. Following the King's defeat, Siryn heard that Black Tom had taken hostages in the World Trade Center, and came to stop him. She was immediately repulsed by Tom, and before she could marshal her strength for a second assault, she was contacted by X-Force, who had arrived on the scene. After defeating Tom and Juggernaut, Terry remained with X-Force.

She led X-Force after Cannonball left, and she has a relationship with James Proudstar that is more than friendship, but hasn't really gone anywhere yet. She also has a sort of love/hate relationship with Deadpool (she hates him/he loves her) which while annoying, did come in handy when Cable sent Terry undercover as a mental patient to the Weisman Institute (the asylum to which Shatterstar's human self Benjamin Russell, had been committed). Deadpool helped Terry break out of the Institute when they refused to believe the truth behind her cover story. In a recent battle with the New Hellions, Terry's vocal chords were slashed by Feral, and as a result she couldn't even speak, let alone use her powers. She left the team shortly thereafter, and visited with an aunt. However, while there, Terry walked into an antique store where the owner put a necklace on her. Terry immediately began to talk again and flew off, the obvious victim of a possession. Recently, however, Siryn apparently ran into Deadpool, who managed to get her to some group that was able to heal her using Wolverine's healing factor. The Administrator of the group had captured Wolverine and extracted the healing cells from him. Wolverine was upset at Deadpool, even after Siryn broke out of her healing tank, but Terry stood by Wade and flew off with him. What became of her possessor is unknown.

Months later, Siryn joined the X-Men's field team program, in part to "atone" for her father's X-Corps debacle. Later on, following Cable's disappearance into a time portal while finishing off Skornn, Siryn traveled to Providence with Cannonball to search for Cable, where they used Deadpool's connection to Cable to navigate the space-time continuum.
