Powers: None (human). Shingen was a Yakuza crimelord who married
his daughter off to a man she didn't love, a wife-beater and a criminal.
He fought Logan twice, once forcing him
into a berserker rage, to prove to Mariko that her paramour
was nothing but an animal. However, while Shingen was a master swordsman,
he also cheated, and the second time he and Logan fought, Logan killed
him.
Years later, Shingen was apparently resurrected by the Hand's agent Phaedra, who then left the Hand to form the terrorist group Scimitar. Shingen tasked Scimitar with finding Wolverine and killing him, and they succeeded by stuffing a grenade down Wolverine's throat. Fortunately for Wolverine, his healing factor restored him, and Dr. Strange helped his soul back to his body. Wolverine then tracked down Phaedra and discovered Shingen...
