Codename Etymology: Pronounced skăn'ər [From Latin scandere "to climb"]; A device that converts a visual image into electronic information.
Powers & History: Scanner can transmute her body into an electro-transitional state in which she is virtually undetectable and can travel great distances. She can also pass through solid matter in this state, making her very effective at reconnaissance. After being saved by Cyclops when Avalon was destroyed, Scanner was growing more sympathetic to the X-Men, but she felt betrayed when they turned her over to the authorities. Recently, Scanner has also shown the ability to scramble a person's (or an astral projection's) bioelectric rhythm.
