Codename Etymology: Pronounced rŭs'tē [From Old English O.E. rustig, from rust "red," related to rudu "redness"]; Nickname "one with reddish-brown hair."
Powers & History: Rusty was the first mutant brought in by the original "mutant-hunting" X-Factor. He had the ability to fire flames from his hands. Rusty and his girlfriend Skids hooked up with the New Mutants for a time, but were then captured and brainwashed by the M.L.F. When Magneto returned after the fall of Asteroid M, he rerouted the bloodflow to Rusty's (and Skids') brain to eliminate the mind-controlling implants. Rusty remained with the Acolytes until his life was drained by Holocaust.
