Powers: Cecilia's body has an automatic, nearly impervious psioplasmic force field that engages six inches from her body whenever she is struck. Amazingly, she can feel things through the field, including the pain of attacks. A doctor in a NYC hospital, Cecilia was yanked out of her normal life when three Prime Sentinels ambushed her and revealed that she was a mutant. Luckily for the doctor, Iceman showed up to rescue her, and eventually brought her back to the X-Mansion, where with the help of some unique instruments, she got a bomb out of Cyclops' chest. Cecilia tried to return to work at Our Mother of Mercy Hospital, and when Pyro was brought in with gunshot wounds, she was asked to treat him. After being "outed" as a mutant, Cecilia was encountering some resisitance among patients and colleauges alike, but in truth, it was her force field that allowed her to perform on Pyro, whose flames were raging out of control. However, Pyro later tricked Cecilia into loosening his straps, whereupon he escaped, costing her her job. During that day, she also had a conversation with Daredevil, whose infected bullet wound she treated. Daredevil told her that using her powers, she could help more people than if she remained simply a doctor, and the having superhuman abilities made her unique, not a freak. Cecilia returned to the X-Men, and although she is very bitter about losing her "life" and career, she is coming to grips with her situation. She has even begun to use her force-field in a more offensive manner, as a type of hand-held battering ram, but the trigger is still subconscious. Shortly thereafter, Cecilia opened a medical practice in Salem Center, allowing her to pursue her dream of being a doctor, while keeping in touch with the X-Men. Then she apparently moved to Brooklyn, or at least took a job there part-time. Her plan of rebuilding a normal life backfired, however, when a badly wounded Nightcrawler teleported into her clinic in Brooklyn. He had been ambushed by the Neo, and Cecilia just barely managed to stabilize him before the Neo attacked again. Jaeger had tracked Kurt to Cece's clinic, and while Kurt put up a good fight, he was no match for the Neo. Almost involuntarily, Cecilia lased out with her power at Jaeger and her forcefield formed tens of spikes, impaling and killing their attacker. Unfortunately, Kurt and Cecilia were still trapped in the buildings in Brooklyn, and Cecilia felt forced to pop some adrenalin drugs she had taken off a street crook in order to hype up her power enough to stand up to the Neo until help arrived. Worse, even after the X-Men charged in and beat the Neo back, Cecilia and some other mutants, plus Detective Charlotte Jones were trapped in the building by the Neo named Barbican.

Later, the X-Men returned to rescue Charlotte and Cecilia, and she was then treated for withdrawal from the drugs she took. Her forcefield increased in strength, but she eventually left the X-Men again. The power boost may have saved her life when she was captured by the Weapon X Program, but was kept alive due to her assumed value, unlike many other mutants who were killed in mass exterminations. Unfortunately, the reprieve did not last long, and Cecilia now appears to be deceased.
