Real Name: UnknownIn truth, Reignfire was a test subject at Gideon's research facility during the time that the doctors there were experimenting on Sunspot. In an attempt to cure him from a disease and to try to reproduce Sunspot's powers in another being, Dr. Joshua gave "Project 19" a transfusion of Sunspot's blood. The man who became Reignfire used Bobby's blood as a template from which to rebuild his body, and later escaped, killing five scientists in the process. He then broke the members of Stryfe's M.L.F. out of the Vault, killing many guards. After Sunspot collided with Locus' portal when X-Force came to resuce H.P. Gyrich from the M.L.F., Reignfire found him and forged a telepathic link that gave him all of Bobby's memories and allowed him to control his template. Reignfire then convinced X-Force that Sunspot was Reignfire, but Cable's interference broke the link. Still, Reignfire retained Sunspot's powers and memories, and in their next encounter was able to siphon Sunspot's powers into his own body. He is also capable of generating and absorbing heat energy, and may not need a physical body to survive. In the final battle, Reignfire's physical form was destroyed by a molecular disruptor, and he possessed Sunspot. Sunspot eventually regained control, thanks to the disruptor and Siryn's scream. Sunspot then drained Reignfire of all of his energy, and was contemplating what to do with him when S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived and took Reignfire into custody.
In reality, however, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who confiscated Reignfire were Deviants working for the Damocles Foundation. Odysseus Indigo, head of the Foundation, brought Reignfire to Brazil, intending to implant him into a Celestial Gatherer and re-activate it. Though X-Force and Selene opposed him, Indigo managed to implant Reignfire. However, Moonstar and Arcadia pooled their cosmic powers to destroy the Gatherer, presumably ending Reignfire's existence as well.
