Codename Etymology: Pronounced rĕd-nĕk [From Southern United States English, derogratory term for poor whites. May be ascribed to the Red Necks, a name bestowed upon the Presbyterians in Fayetteville," from Ann Royall, "Southern Tour I," p.148. According to various theories, red perhaps from anger, or from pellagra, but most likely from mule farmers' outdoors labor in the sun, wearing a shirt and straw hat, with the neck exposed]; Cracker, poor white trash.
Powers & History: Redneck had the ability to heat his hands. On the Kick drug he was able to superheat them to a much more dangerous level.

Redneck was present in the school when Cassandra Nova attacked. He was mind-controlled by her like the others but was eventually freed by the Stepford Cuckoos.

Redneck was a follower through and through he did as he was told and was easily ordered around. During the Riot he tried to lead a charge against Xorn Cyclops and Beast however Cyclops hit him with a focused beam to the nose which broke it and incapacitated the boy.

During the investigation into the murder of Emma Frost Redneck was questioned by Bishop about the Kick supplier. Redneck revealed that his powers were far weaker without the drug and had a minor breakdown from the fear and frustration in the prison. After M-Day he apparently lost his powers. He remains incarcerated.
