Codename Etymology: Pronounced pĭck'see [From (possibly) Swedish dialect pyske "small fairy"].
Powers & History: Pixie III has large butterfly-like wings granting her flight and can produce pixie dust which causes hallucinations.
Megan Gwynn is a mutant who truly loves her powers. The cheery student had no problems making friends at the institute and joined Wolfsbane’s Paragons. During their field exercises, Megan would often wear a bicycle helmet to protect her head while flying. After M-Day, Megan was one of the few mutants to remain powered. She stayed at the Institute but failed to become a New X-Men when Emma Frost pitted the students against each other.
When the students were transported to Limbo by Belasco, who was searching for Magik, Pixie was accosted by Magik in her Darkchild incarnation, who demanded her soul in payment for saving the New X-Men from Belasco. Pixie agreed over the protests of her friends, and Illyana filled two of the Bloodstones on her amulet before Anole freed himself from his bonds and stopped her. Pixie was left with a "hole in her soul" and a "Souldagger" or mini-Soulsword. She also learned some magic from Illyana, most notably a teleportation spell.
After the X-Men moved to San Francisco, Pixie III was savagely beaten by members of the Hellfire Cult as she was leaving a club with a friend. She made it back to the Graymalkin complex and was treated for her injuries, which included smashed wings. She left the complex to try and be normal and was hanging out with friends when she heard that the X-Men were being attacked by Empath, and she immediately turned around and joined the fight, blinding Empath by stabbing him with her Souldagger.
Afterwards, Pixie trained with Nightcrawler and Wolverine in the use of her teleportation and in combat techniques. However, when asked by Nightcrawler to draw her Souldagger, Pixie's demeanor grew dark and she stabbed the X-Man with it. Drawing out the dagger also removed the Soulsword Kurt was hosting, prompting Magik to arrive from Limbo demanding her weapon. When Magik left abruptly due to her brother Colossus's presence, the other X-Men had Pixie teleport them after her. Pixie was captured by Witchfire (Belasco's daughter) and demonized, with more bloodstones created from her blood. Fortunately, Nightcrawler was able to use the Soulsword to free Pixie and the X-Men, and together with Magik, Pixie stabbed the Bloodstone amulet with her Souldagger, destroying it.
Following the Limbo mission, Pixie became more intent on training and combat, even taking on five holographic Hellfire Cult members after the mutant sterlization proposition was publicized.
