Codename Etymology: Pronounced ôr'ə-kəl [From Latin ōrāre "to speak"]; An ancient Greek shrine where worships went to hear prophesies.
Powers & History: Telepathy of a fairly high level. Oracle is currently Gladiator's love interest, although it appears that she was in love with Tempest (Flashfire?) at some point. Oracle, like all the members of the Guard, has in the past appeared to have the ability to fly, but whether that is natural or artificial is uncertain, although the latter seems more likely. Her most notable contact with the X-Men occurred right after Lilandra assumed the Shi'ar throne, when Professor X inexplicably lapsed into a coma. Lilandra brought Oracle to Earth to probe Charles's mind, but the intrusion created a psychic backlash that knocked Oracle away. What no one knew at the time was that Xavier had been implanted with a Brood embryo, and that caused the coma and the backlash. Oracle serves as second-in-command of the Imperial Guard.
Oracle was part of the Imperial Guard force that stayed on Earth after Onslaught, and recently returned to attack all mutants under orders from Cassandra Nova, who was masquerading as Xavier and controlling Lilandra.
More recently, Oracle was involved in the Guard's defense of the Shi'ar against Vulcan. She, Hobgoblin and Nightside tried to stop Vulcan by confronting him with himself, but the mutant's powers proved too strong for them. Oracle was stunned at best, though she may have suffered more damage...
