Real Name: Sidney GreenSidney Green was a very clumsy and boorish child who was the subject of much bullying from other children and adults alike. Also, the fact that he was passed between many orphanages and foster homes, as well as being a bed-wetter, further damaged his self-esteem and ostracized him from others.
So when his mutation set in, Sidney was one of only a few mutants to be very thankful for it, as it caused a nice drought below the waist at night. Taking the name Onyxx, he moved to the Xavier Institute, where he was placed under the tutelage of Gambit, and made friends with his fellow teammates, helping him to gain some of his confidence back. Some of that confidence waned a bit, when new student Foxx came to the school and was placed on the squad. Onyxx quickly developed a crush on the mysterious girl, but she seemed to have eyes for their teacher, Gambit. This made Sidney quite mad, and he led his teammates Flubber and Rain Boy to try and teach Gambit a lesson on a squad camping trip, but Remy easily put them in their places.
Onyxx still shied away from Foxx with his crush, but she was soon revealed to actually be Mystique in disguise. When he was told of this, he snapped and went to confront Mystique in her cell, trying to force her to change back and love him. They fought, and Mystique finished him off by bashing him in the head with a toilet; probably the ultimate irony for a former bed-wetter.
Onyxx was able to recover from the injuries he received, and stayed at the school, even after M-Day, where he was one of the few mutants left to keep his powers. During this time, he’s apparently developed a friendship with Rockslide, who has a similar mutation, but was denied a spot on the New X-Men team. Onyxx’s luck still seems to be bad as when William Stryker’s forces attacked the school, he was severely injured by Stryker himself, but survived.
