Powers & History: Magical abilities unsupassed by any in his dimension. These included energy draining, animating the dead, and other transmutative arts. Later, he gained the ability to fly and wield vast energies to blast and move objects from the Phoenix Force.

Necrom was the Sorcrcer Supreme of his world, and taught the original Feron and Merlyn (yes, THE Merlyn) magic for years. However, when Feron first communed with the Phoenix Force, Necrom coveted its power. He had Feron use the Phoenix to project the tower that would become Excalibur's lighthouse through the multiverse to every Earth, serving as a lynchpin for the great energies of the multiverse. Eventually these energies would come together in a Cosmic Convergence that Necrom planned to use to elevate himself to incredible poewr. To keep Feron from surpassing him, he physically ripped the Phoenix Force from his student and placed a small portion of it into a corpse which he buried on Earth 616 (our world) for thousands of years. Still, Feron and Merlyn managed to banish Necrom, and Merlyn took over as steward of the Convergence energy matrix. He then formed the Captain Britain Corps to patrol the multiverse and defend against Necrom's return. Meanwhile, Necrom settled on Ee'rath (Earth 198) and soon became a despotic ruler. Apparently he was deposed for a while, and a Queen arose who was just and fair. During her reign, a boy from Earth, Colin McKay, traveled to Ee'rath through a portal created by Widget. Colin would grow up to become Kylun master swordsman and lover of the Princess Sat'neen. However, shortly after Colin's arrival, Necrom launched an offensive against the Queen and the Royal Court was decimated and driven into exile. Necrom took up residence in the fortress palace built around the lynchpin tower and ruled with an iron fist. Kylun and Sat'neen led a rebellion for years until the reached Necrom's tower. Unfortunately, Necrom killed Sat'neen, and then fled into the tower, whose interdimensional nature led him back to our Earth. Kylun pursued Necrom, but due to the time differential between the dimensions, didn't arrive here until a month after Necrom. In the meantime, Necrom sent a monster of his to collect Druidic artifacts that he needed to merge with the Phoenix Force and control the nearing Convergence. The monster soon ran into Nightcrawler and the "N-Men" (Technet), who subdued and captured the monster. Necrom then killed an entire F.I.6 team by draining their lives, and then raised his Anit-Phoenix corpse and sucked the portion of the Phoenix out of it. Armed with cosmic power, Necrom began to merge the multiverse into one powerful reality. Excalibur journeyed to Otherworld, home of the CB Corps and site of the Convergence, and were able to repair the multiverse and subsequently destroy the lynchpin tower that had made the Convergence possible. Necrom, however, was not so easily defeated. He still coveted the rest of the Phoenix's power, which brought him face-to-face with Phoenix II, who possessed it. To prevent Necrom from killing her teammates, Rachel engaged him in single combat, which quickly escalated into war with her opening a Stargate and Necrom flinging planets at her. Finally, Rachel attacked Necrom directly and he began to drain her energy. However, Rachel opened up the full Phoenix power and poured it into him, over-saturating him with energy and causing him to explode.
