Codename Etymology: Pronounced nĕs [From Old English, næss]: Headland.
Powers & History: Naze is a Cheyenne shaman with magical powers, but he is not nearly as powerful as his student Forge. He does, however, have a nifty talent for avoiding death and showing up just when he is needed. During a fight long ago with the Dire Wraiths, Naze cast a spell in Forge's sanctum that opened him to the influence of his nemesis, the Adversary. The Adversary assumed Naze's form until the final fight with the X-Men, when the Naze form was destroyed by Longshot's blades and a leaping Colossus. Naze was presumed dead, but he later returned to teach his student to accept both the mystical and scientific sides of his life and use them to defeat the Adversary once and for all.
