Powers: None (human). Mariko, Wolverine's only true love, took control of
the Yashida clan after her father Shingen's death.
During that time, she tried to free her house of all of the debts to the
Yakuza that her father had incurred. She had planned to marry Logan, but Mastermind made her reject him.
After Mastermind's effects wore off, Mariko still refused to marry, not
because Logan wasn't good enough for her, but because she felt that until
her clan was disassocited from the underworld, she wasn't worthy of him.
Mariko was poisoned by Reiko, an assassin for the Yakuza, and asked Logan to use his claws on her to end her suffering. She died in her beloved's arms.
