Magik II asks Dormammu what brings him to Limbo. Dormammu holds up the head of one of Nightmare' guards, who tells the tale of the storm of evil black shards that ripped him and his fellow guards to pieces and topples Nightmare's kingdom. All are shocked at the destruction of one of the most powerful Spinter Realms, and Dormammu suggests that an alliance be formed to combat this greater evil. Magik goes to consult with her advisors on this unprecedented proposal.
Of Magik's advisors, Vitchen is the most against such an alliance, fearing trechery. However, Duke Bleys feels that if Dormammu himself is asking for help, the story is likely true. Vitchen protests, but Magik pulls rank and dismisses them. Kurt stays behind and offers his support, for which Amanda is grateful.
The next day, Magik and Dormammu ride into the Splinter Realms with their entourages, and are horrified to find Muspelheim, home of the Norse fire demon Surtur, destroyed! Even Sutur's powerful flaming sword has been extinguished. Suddenly, the black storm appears in the sky and attacks with shards of living darkness. The warriors of Limbo fight alongside Dormammu's Mindless Ones, but the battle goes badly, and Dormammu and Magik are forced to pool their powers to teleport their armies to safety. Magik is weakened, and after such a close call, goes to speak to Nugent.
Nugent reports that the machine he is building on Earth has already catalogues 3/4 of the world's arcane knowledge. He also reports that based on his analysis, Hades will be the next target. Amanda goes to bed, and Kurt and Vitchen discuss Nightcrawler's other experiences in Limbo, and the paradox of a blue demon in a priest's collar working and fighting with demons.
Hades: Demons report an attack on the gates to the incredulous Mephisto. However, Magik suddenly teleports into his throne room, saying she wants to talk. Mephisto has his guards attack, but magk takes them down and tells his to back them off. Mephisto grows to great height and stars blasting fire at Magik instead. Magik teleports out of the way and onto Mephisto's neck, which she holds at swordpoint. She tells him to listen, and outside the lord of Hades can hear the black storm coming to destroy his realm as well!
