Wolverine and Ogun fight, but Wolverine realizes he's outmatched. He decides to retreat to have time to plan, hoping that Ogun will follow him, instead of going after Kitty again. He's right and Kitty watches as they both disappear over the edge of the roof.

Yukio and Carmen arrive at the building just as Mariko and Akiko run through the front doors. Yukio asks if she's seen Wolverine, but she tells her that she's only seen Kitty and that Kitty was defending them from Ogun. As she's filling Mariko in on all that's happened Shumai (Shigematsu's body guard) blows up her car. He's shown up to kill Mariko, to enable Shigematsu to become absolute ruler of all clans.

Kitty has watched from the roof and decides to try and airwalk down to help the others. She doesn't have the control of her power back totally yet, and falls. She manages to slow herself and phases right through Shumai on her way past. Shumai is stunned and Yukio finishes him off. Kitty airwalks away to find Wolverine, as her Dad tries to get her to come back.

Ogun catches up to Wolverine and they fight again. Ogun ends up shooting Wolverine and chasing him into an elevator. He cuts the leads, but Wolverine is able to get out before it drops. He runs to the top floor of a building under construction. Yukio takes Mariko and Akiko to a safe house as Carmen heads to the US Embassy and tells the guard he needs to report a crime.

Kitty makes her way to the building under construction. She comes up face to face with Ogun. Wolverine finds them and tells Kitty he's sorry he couldn't beat Ogun. Ogun tries to get her to join him, saying he offers her immortality. Wolverine tells him to leave her alone and they fight again. Wolverine goes berserk and beats Ogun down. He holds Ogun and tells Kitty she can kill him if she wants, that she's earned that right. Kitty picks up Ogun's broken sword and charges but at the last second she isn't able to follow through. She tells Wolverine she can't and asks why he goaded her into the attack. He tells her they both had to be sure that she was free of Ogun's influence. When she asks what would have happened if she had killed Ogun, Wolverine pops his claws.

Wolverine tells her that she knows now for sure that she's beaten Ogun. He tells her Ogun is finished and they turn to leave. Ogun picks up the sword and rushes Kitty. Wolverine yells for her to phase and the sword catches him instead, but he also is able to jam his claws into Ogun's chest. Ogun dies and Kitty comforts Wolverine when he starts to brood about his animal side. She tells him that he controlled himself enough to help her when she needed it, that he risked his life and soul for her and that makes him very much a man. She tells him they've both won.

Later, they meet up with Carmen, Mariko, Akiko and Yukio. Carmen has given information about Shigematsu to the authorities, enough to shut him down. He also faces charges himself when he arrives back in America. He makes up with Kitty. Yukio leaves when she sees Mariko and Logan together. The rest of them go out for ice cream to celebrate.

A note on placement - this LS takes place concurrent with Uncanny X-Men #184 through #191.
