Synopsis: Picking up right form the last issue, The It holds Magneto and Pietro while Victor von Doom mocks them. Magneto threatens Doom that he could beat him with no effort at all, but Doom calls Magnus' bluff because he knows that Magneto cannot win in this dimension, where sorcery is greater than magic. Doom and his son then show off their enhanced powers bit, before Doom orders The It to knock the House of M unconscious. When asked by Kristoff, Doom explains that he wants them to suffer and starve for underestimating Doom instead of killing them. The Fearsome Four then return and Doom kills all the scientists running the machine, as he knows some are loyal to Magneto. He then tells Valeria to kill Polaris, who didn't accompany them to the other dimension, and for Kristoff to destroy the Extradimensional Transporter and find a cage for The It while he writes a speech about a horrible "accident" to befall the House of M and how he will offer his leadership. However, the It finally protests, saying that he wants respect as he is part of the team and that there should be no more cages, which angers Doom, but he concedes to The It before leaving. Kristoff asks if he can help his mother kill Polaris and the two leave The It to destroy the transporter and leave. The It just looks at the transporter. Doom looks on from Magneto's palace and marvels at how it is now his. That evening, Doom finishes up his speech when Valeria and Kristoff burst in and announce that they could not locate Polaris. Just then, the It appears stating Polaris is with him, and they've retrieved Magneto and Quicksilver. Shocked and infuriated, the Invincible Woman and Inhuman torch blast The It out of the Palace. A huge brawl ensues between the House of M and the Fearsome Four, during which Magneto is buried under some rubble and knocked out before a mass of guards enter and attack the FF. Valeria realizes they will soon be overpowered and calls to her husband for help. Unfortunately, Doom is completely occupied with killing the downed Magneto and ignores his family's cries for help as the mutant guards overwhelm them. Doom prepares to strike down Magneto when Magnus reveals he was faking and blasts away Doom with his powers. Doom gathers himself together to realize his family is dead, he is outnumbered, and that he is beaten. An infuriated Magneto ponders what to do with Doom and tells two guards (One of which is Rockslide of the Hellions form Academy X) to bring in.Doom's mother! Magneto announces that he will punish her in Doom's stead by throwing her into the dimension doom left him and Pietro in. Out of fear, Doom's mother bursts forth and begs for mercy and blames her son for his actions and that "He is no son of mine. He is a monster." Magnus then spares Doom's mother and tortures Doom using his powers. Doom's liquid metal body is wildly contorted and misshapen as Magneto berets the traitorous Doom. Doom begs to be killed but Magneto decides to spare him. Pietro and Lorna disagree with Magneto but he explains that Doom is now broken and lost everything, thus making it so that he will never be as strong as he was. Meanwhile, The It is found by some underground human resistant forces, which want to kill him, thinking he is a mutant. The It screams that he is no mutant and they take him in. Ben Grimm complains that he can't see in the tunnel he is being lead into as a girl comforts him and introduces herself as...Alicia. Review: Another excellent issue. This series went the opposite direction as the Incredible Hulk tie-in. The hulk tie-in went downhill and by the end I was upset and angry. By the end of this, I was very impressed and pleased. It was obvious Ben would betray Doom. He was so mistreated. Again, I wish the Invincible woman's powers were defined a little better. At least we found out she could make force fields too. This was basically a big brawl, as most arcs have. It was a little quick though. My favorite part was when Magneto contorted Doom's body. I just thought it looked great. Speaking of art, it was just as good as ever. My only problem would be the inking of Doom. At times, his metal skin is a little too bluish. That's all I can say against the art. I also like how the It joins some sort of underground human movement and is found by Alicia Masters (At least that's who I'm assuming it is, as well as not being blind). Cute reference back to the regular world. Too bad he won't show up as doing everything else. I thought it was good when Grimm cried out how he wasn't a mutant, like he didn't like them either. I', hoping this kind of stays post-HOM. I want the heroes to remember how mutants mistreated them. I wouldn't mind Ben being a little against mutants (and not just Canadians for you Astonishing readers : P). I want to even see Captain America be a little tense or unforgiving to mutants because of his "experience". I doubt it'll happen though. Oh well. This was one of the better tie-ins despite being handled in one panel in HOM #6. It was actually interesting (Much help because it was Doom I'm sure) I just wish this would have had a bigger impact on the main LS. But for what is was, it was certainly done well.
