Codename Etymology: Pronounced ĭn-fĕkt'ēə [From Middle English, infecten: "to afflict with disease"]; Infect: To contaminate with a disease.
Powers & History: Infectia could generate and transmit any manner of contagious infection, essentially by changing a person's genetic structure to suit her purposes. She led a group of malformed men called the Anti-Bodies. These men had been transformed into zombie-like creatures through Infectia's kiss. Infectia was after Iceman, hoping to get him to be her slave and thereby gain access to X-Factor's Ship, but her initial kiss attack was intercepted by Beast, who at the time was suffering from Pestilence's touch, which made his strength increase while decreasing his intelligence. Infectia kissed Beast, and set him into a semi-coma, during which time he changed back and forth from his human form to his blue furry one many times. Finally, Hank broke out of his restraints as the bouncing blue Beast, with his intellect back to its normal level. Infectia was stopped (captured?) soon after. Much later, Beast, Iceman, and Rogue went to visit Infectia in the hospital, where she was dying of the Legacy Virus. After a disguised Sinister drew some blood from "Josephine," prompting the X-Men to follow and fight with him, Beast returned to the hospital and risked death by taking Infectia out onto her balcony to see the sunset and the city for the last time as she died peacefully in his arms.
