The Alley was the main Morlock tunnel, buried a mile beneath New York and running the length of Manhattan. It was the site of the classic battle for leadership between Storm and Callisto. It was also the main site of the Mutant Massacre. After the surviving Morlocks were evacuated, the Alley was abandoned until just before Inferno, when the Marauders returned to use it as their new base. As they were moving in, however, the X-Men arrived and chased them out into the transformed city, where most of them were killed. Later, Masque led the surviving Morlocks back to the Alley and its subsidiary tunnels, where they remained until Mikhail Rasputin collapsed and flooded the tunnels and transported all of them to the dimension of the Hill. Today the Alley is abandoned, except for the occasional visitor.
