Codename Etymology: Pronounced gônt'lĭt [From Old Norse, gatlopp: " lane" + lopp: "course"]; An attack from all sides; severe trial.
Powers & History: Excellent marksman, high-powered weaponry. Probably an enhanced human. Very ugly. Gauntlet was one of the original Dark Riders, and for most of their existence appeared to be the de facto field leader. He presumed killed by Wolverine when the feral X-Man massacred the villanous team after Genesis tried to forcibly re-bond his bones with adamantium. However, Gauntlet recently re-appeared and attempted to assassinate Cyclops, who had merged with Apocalypse and was the vessel through which the High Lord was re-making himself. His motivations for this attempted murder are unknown.
