Codename Etymology: Pronounced gā'ə [From Greek Gaea, collateral form of ge "earth"]; In Greek mythology, Goddess of the Earth, lover of Uranus, mother of the Titans and Cyclopes. General term for Nature, Earth Mother Spirit.
Powers & History: Unknown at this point. Gaia seems to have reality-warping abilities, and may also have telepathy and telekinesis. She spent thousands of years chained to the Universal Amalgamator and the end of Time, and apparently was the safeguard that was supposed to prevent the Amalgamator from activating. However, when M-Plate, the synthesis of Emplate, M, and Penance, tried to have Synch use his power to tap into Gaia's and activate the Amalgamator, Everett refused, and in the process freed Gaia from her bonds, much to his teachers' consternation. When Gen X returned home Gaia ran off, but was seen soon after with a cool car and a new 'do, probably courtesy of her reality-shaping powers. She lost some of her abilities to the Shadow King's telepathic shockwave, and stayed with Gen X, hoping to sort out that difficulty with their help. She appears to have some feelings for Synch, and flirts with him a lot. Gaia formally enrolled in the School for Gifted Youngsters, but left after a short time, saying that she wanted to experience Earth, not just learn about it. This announcement came after a particularly difficult experience with her nascent empathy, and a conversation with Nate Grey, also a transplant to Earth.
