Firestar

Real Name: Angelica Jones
Affiliation: Triune Understanding (infiltration), Avengers (on leave)
Previous Affiliations: New Warriors, Hellions
Status: Engaged to Vance Astrovik (Justice)
Relatives: Bartholomew (father, deceased), Grandmother (unnamed, deceased)

Codename Etymology: Pronounced fīr'stär [From Middle English, fir + Old English, steorra].
Powers: Firestar generates microwave blasts. She also uses her power to fly. She was sensed by Mutivac, and recruited into the White Queen's Hellions, but kept separate from them, as Emma wanted to mold her into her personal assassin, to take out Frost's rival Selene with untraceable microwaves. Emma pampered Angelica with riding lessons and a personal guard, but eventually had them all killed, falsely causing Firestar's power to go out of control, to cement her loyalty and hatred of Selene. Angelica was also mainpulated by Empath, and thinking that she loved him, accompanied the Hellions to Cheyenne Mountain to help Thunderbird II avenge his brother's death on the X-Man Banshee, which brought her into conflict with the X-Men. When she found out the truth about Emma's machinations, Angelica was distraught and quickly left the Hellions. She joined the New Warriors and soon began a romance with Justice (then Marvel Boy).

Firestar finally became a member of the Avengers, and although super-heroing was not her goal in life, she did it to help Justice achieve his dream. For a long time, Angel's powers were slowly killing her body through radiation poisoning, a fact which she kept secret from the Avengers. However, when she finally revealed her problem, she met with Dr. Henry Pym (Giant-Man), who gave her a special suit to wear under her costume which would not only halt her power from harming her, but actually use it to heal her. Firestar now seems to enjoy super-heroing much more, to say the least. However, during recent troubles in the Avengers, Angel and Vance took a leave of absence, possibly to plan their wedding. Recently, however, fellow Avenger Photon found Firestar and Justice posing as acolytes of the Triune Understanding, a cult-like self-help group that has been suspected of criminal or conspiratous activities. Angel revealed that Iron Man had asked them to check out the Triunes. After Firestar and Justice showed Photon what they had learned about the Triune's agenda, they remained undercover to discover more. Once the Triune Understanding's plan was revealed as trying to harness an alien energy source, Firestar helped the Avengers fight off the menace, allowing the Avenger Triathlon to fulfull his potential and absorb the energy.

Firestar and Justice remained inactive, but it appears they may have split up. After M-Day, Firestar retained her powers but quit being a superhero when the Superhuman Registration Act was passed after her former teammates in the New Warriors were killed by Nitro, along with 800 civilians.
