Pryde, Kitty

Powers & History: Kitty Pryde can phase through walls, doors, people and even the bed and floor. She hails from Illinois and likes to ice skate. However, unlike other versions of Kitty, her phasing appears to displace matter, not merge with it, making it less dangerous for her to let go of a phased object (though this may have been an exception due to Juggernaut's power). Kitty Pryde may have been brought to the Professor's attention when Senator Kelly used her as an example during a presentation to Congress. Xavier may then have retrieved her from Illinois. She became friends with Rogue and Jubilee, among others.

X1: Kitty is first seen in Xavier's physics class that Logan crashes, when she runs out and phases through the door. She is also in Ororo's history class. She asked Rogue if it's true that Wolverine has steel claws in his hands and 'what kind of power is that?.'

X2: The day Col. Stryker broke into the school, Kitty phased through her bed to get away. Then she ran through walls and Stryker's minions to escape. She almost got shot, but she dodged the shot at the last second. It's presumed that she was one of the kids evacuated by Colossus, as she wasn't seen as a captive in Alkali Lake.

X3: Kitty later became a member of the X-Men, received a uniform (pink piping) and trained with Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, Rogue and Iceman in the Danger Room. After Professor X's funeral, Kitty was depressed, so Iceman froze the fountain pond and took her ice skating. Feelings for Iceman appeared to bloom, much to the annoyance of Iceman's current girlfriend, Rogue. Rogue eventually left to take the Cure, so there doesn't seem to be much hope for her to have a relationship with Bobby. During the battle at Alcatraz, Kitty also proved herself to be a capable and smart fighter. She volunteered to protect Leech (the source of the cure) from Juggernaut, and managed to phase him into the floor. Though Juggernaut escaped, Kitty got ahead of him and found Leech. When she realized she couldn't phase while near Leech, she antagonized Juggernaut into charging into the wall, and Leech's powers removed Juggernaut's protective aura and he knocked himself out. After the fight, Kitty stayed on at the mansion, presumably to continue her X-Man duties.
