After some testing, Styker utilised a serum derived from Jason's synaptic fluid that rendered anyone who had the serum placed on the back of their neck extremely susceptible to outside suggestion. In this way, Stryker was able to brainwash and control mutants such as Yuriko Oyama, Magneto, Nightcrawler and Cyclops.
As a result of his father's experiments on him, Jason was confined to a wheelchair which incorporated a piece of equipment that drained his synaptic fluids. Jason, now known to his father as Mutant 143, telepathically brainwashed Xavier into operating the replicated Cerebro machine to kill all mutants by using an illusion of a small girl, a lone student who wanted Xavier to find other mutants using Cerebro. When Magneto infiltrated Cerebro 2, he had Mystique impersonate Stryker and command Jason to have Xavier kill all humans. Jason was then neutralized by Storm, who created a snowstorm inside Cerebro and broke his hold on Xavier. He perished at Alkali Lake when Cerebro 2 collapsed due to the dam's destruction.
