Powers & History: A gifted geneticist working for Warren Worthington Jr. and his company, Dr. Rao was the leading scientist who discovered a special genome hidden within the young mutant known as Leech. The boy had the power to temporarily cancel out mutant powers, but Kavita was able to take this and synthesize the genome into a mutant cure, which would remove a mutant’s powers permanently. When Worthington announced this cure to be available to the mutant population, this upset many mutants, notably Magneto and his expanded Brotherhood. When this group of mutants attacked the Worthington Laboratories located on Alcatraz Island, Arclight, Quill, and Psylocke separated from the others to kill Worthington. When Kavita tried to stop them from taking him away, Quill wrapped her up in his arms and thrust his spikes into her body, killing her almost instantly.
