Powers & History: Yuriko Oyama is Colonel Stryker's special assistant and bodyguard. Yuriko shares Wolverine's regenerative abilities and her finger claws are adamantium-laced and extend from her fingernails. According to information on x2-movie.com in the 'Stryker's mutant database' section, Deathstrike was a cyborg, but how much of her body was mechanical is unknown.

Eighteen years ago, Yuriko Oyama was part of the same project to enhance mutants as Wolverine and Sabretooth. She was not one of the mutants freed from Stryker's facility by the crazed Wolverine. Yuriko was brainwashed into working for Stryker with the serum he derived from his son's brain fluids. She easily captured Cyclops when Stryker raided Magneto's prison and badly injured Wolverine in the Alkali Lake compound. However, Yuriko was killed by Wolverine when he injected her with liquid adamantium.
