Background: A strange, odd-looking mutant, Mastermind is one of the more powerful telepaths around, though he compares in no way to Professor Xavier. He has worked with Magneto in the past, and recently was hired by Magneto to re-organize the Scarlet Witch's memories, making her stop hating her father.

Mastermind later assisted Magneto by probing Mesmero's mind, finding out that the spider-stone was the second key to Apocalypse's tomb.
