"Day of Reckoning, Part 2"

Synopsis by Desperado00:
Synopsis: The show opens with a recap of HeX Factor and Day of Reckoning Part 1.

The show returns with the Sentinel about to destroy Wolverine. Just as he prepares, Trask orders the Sentinel shut down. Orders are issued to run a full diagnostic on the Sentinel to see how it did in the fight with Wolverine, and Wolverine to be taken to the medical unit and allowed to recover, and that the testing will soon recommence.

Inside the Mansion, Bobby saves Jubilee from a blast, and he and Berzerker begin eliminating the weaponry in the lobby. He tells them to find the rest of the New Mutants, and they'll regroup in the planning room.

Outside, Scott slides down the side of the hill, realizing that they can't climb in. He has Magma melt through the side of the hill into a hallway. The elevator is out, so they have to climb the stairs to get in.

The three mutants fight their way to the computer room. The computer continues its countdown.

The Velocity and X-Jet land near the building where Magneto's team landed earlier. The teams search the area, all the while Quicksilver has an odd smirk on his face. Wanda notices this, still not trusting her brother. Nightcrawler checks the pods, but they are empty. Suddenly, down between Spyke, Rogue, Jean, and Nightcrawler, a charged card falls. The teams converge on the area, as Quicksilver speeds away. Wanda calls out that it's a trap as machines begin flying around. A building dismantles itself, where the waiting Sabretooth, Gambit, Pyro, and Colossus stand ready to fight. Gambit begins tossing his cards everywhere, casuing numerous explosions. Beast charges in, only to be taken by surprise by Sabretooth. Spyke confronts Pyro, who uses the flames from an ignited oil can to create a huge fire hand. As he swats, his flames are extinguished by rain, as Storm comes in to save the day. Pyro begins to run, but his pack is struck by a bolt of lighting, knocking him down. Beast continues to fight against Sabretooth, asking him where Wolverine is. Sabretooth says that he's around, as Beast climbs a steel tower, only to be snared by a twisting beam, thanks to Magneto. Wanda isn't fighting, she's looking toward the city, searching for her would-be family.

Back in the computer room, Bobby and the other New Mutants are attempting to shut down the computer. Scott goes to work, and realizes that they can't shut it down. He leads the mutants away.

Outside, the Mansion explodes, and one part of Mystique's plan is realized.

Wolverine is hooked to machines and an IV. The doctors watch the computers as they record his healing abilities, completely amazed that anyone could heal so quickly. One of the soldiers informs Trask of the battle above, and Trask orders them to prepare the Sentinel.

Rogue walks between two stacks of crates. She runs into Gambit. For a moment, he begins flirting with her, handing her the King of Hearts. She seems to be taken with him. As he walks away, she realizes that the card is charged, and tosses it away just in time. Toad bounces around, avoiding whatever Colossus throws at him. Finally, he kicks Colossus square in the chest, only managing to get himself caught by the exceptionally strong mutant. Colossus prepares to attack, until Blob charges over, ramming the steel mutant to the ground. Shadowcat emerges from inside a condemned building, and pulls the big man inside. She rushes out, and Avalanche collapses the building on Colossus. Beast frees himself from the beam, only to be brought to the ground by Sabretooth. Rogue runs over, absorbing Beast's abilities, and knocks Sabretooth away. Scarlet Witch finds her family, remembering the night the abandoned her, and everything around her begins to ripple. She walks forward, prepared to face down the mad mutant she used to call father. The X-Men and Brotherhood follow her. On top of the building, Quicksilver informs Magneto that the team is coming, with Wanda leading the charge. Magneto says she'll just have to wait, and uses his magnetic abilities to send them all backwards, onto a single spot, and splits the iron-rich ground, delivering the mutants into the lair of the Sentinel. Xavier watches, in horror as his students fall. Wanda hangs onto the edge, but is knocked off by Magneto.

Inside, the soldiers alert Trask of the mutants. They turn the Sentinel loose. Soldiers surround the mutants, and are ordered away by Trask as the ground shakes with footsteps. Up top, Quicksilver is at the edge, and speeds back to Magneto, informing him of the situation. Magneto says he knew the man would release the Sentinel, and with his mutants in their pods he flies them away to safety. The Sentinel confronts the mutants, preparing its arsenal as Magneto uses his power to lift the robot and mutants up, on a steel platform, saying that it's time the world knows of mutants. Trask watches in disbelief. The mutants on the surface begin to run as Xavier watches the machine attack them. TV helicopters fly overhead, the reporters stunned at the scene. Storm hurls a bolt of lighting, knocking the robot back, causing it to prepare and launch its full arsenal.

The Sentinel stomps down the street, crushing anything in its path, not caring whether or not it hurts normal humans along with the mutants. It blasts Storm, knocking her unconcious. This draws out Spyke's full anger. He attacks the robot, sending spikes right into the barrells of its weapons. This stuns the robot, but does not stop it. Blob tosses a car, aided by Jean, into the robot, and Avalanche sends a tremor at it. The robot staggers, but does not go down. Overhead, copters beam the images around the world, being seen by everyone, including Principal Kelly, Amanda, and Duncan. Concern is clear on Amanda's face, when she sees Kurt fighting for his life, but Duncan's face shows more anger than concern when he sees Jean as a mutant. Despite all the attacks the mutants throw at the robot, it refuses to go down, and continues on, attacking. Blob and Spyke are encased in the same paralysis gel that brought Wolverine down earlier. Storm awakens, creating a huge cyclone, sending it right into the machine, tearing off its right weapons assembly. The Sentinel uses its thrusters to get out of the cyclone before anything more can be removed from it. It then stomps the ground in front of Rogue and Shadowcat, blasting them with the paralysis gel. Rogue is encased in it, but Shadowcat manges to phase herself through it. Beast lunges at the Sentinel, only to be caught by it, tossed in the air, and then himself encased in the gel. The robot continues on, launching missiles at Toad and Nightcrawler, who narrowly escape them. Marine helicopters fly in, trapped in Magneto's magnetic clutch. He does not yet want the robot stopped. Nightcrawler teleports onto one of the copters, borrowing a grenade, and the teleporting onto the shoulder of the giant robot. He drops the grenade into a weapons barrel on the robot, and teleports away as it explodes, negating the Sentinel's right arm. The Sentinel falls back into an office building, the people inside running away just in time to avoid being innocent casualties. The Sentinel stands, finding Magneto's mutant signature. It again uses its thrusters, and begins towards the Master of Magnetism. Magneto turns around, hearing Quicksilver cry out, and sees that Scarlet Witch has arrived to release her full rage on them. She begins talking about how he left her at the institution, and he says that she couldn't control her anger. She explains that he's never seen her angry until now, and unleashes her hex blast on him, negating his powers. The Sentinel flies up next to them, preparing to attack. Magneto runs as he is fired upon. From behind, Xavier comes up in the Velocity, and begins firing on the Sentinel. Wanda tells him not to interupt, and forces him away with her hex powers. The Sentinel fires two rockets, both returned to it by Magneto, finally destroying the robot. The Sentinel falls forward, onto Magneto, and knocks Scarlet Witch off the building. She is saved by Nightcrawler, who teleports to her, and teleports them to the pavement. The Velocity lands, Xavier telling the remaining X-Men to board. They protest, wanting to save the others, but Xavier explains that they'll have to come back for them. Storm agrees, and they board. They fly away, chased by the tv copters. We hear the various reporters around the world discussing the possibilities of the superhuman strangers, as well as comments from Senators and others who know absolutely nothing about who or what these people may be.

The Velocity lands at the destroyed Mansion. Everyone is concerned about what has happend to the New Mutants, who come up walking over the hill. Their clothes are trashed, but they're alright. Scott walks over, ignoring a kiss and hug from Jean. Cannonball explains that Scott got them into the Cerebro room just in time and saved them. Scott stalks over to Xavier, lifting the man from his wheelchair, and accuses him of sabotaging the Institute. He throws his mentor to the ground, and prepares to attack as Nightcrawler and Iceman stop him. Xavier stands, laughing, and turns into Mystique, admitting that she did it. The show ends with Mystique saying, "And now things are about to get much worse."
