Background: Callisto has a scarred face, and has lost her right eye. How this happened is unknown, but shortly after being wounded, she retreated underground into the New York sewers, and has since lived there, taking in frightened mutants deemed too hideous to live in normal society. She has taken to calling her group the Morlocks. Her most recent recruit is Spyke (Evan Daniels), formerly of the X-Men, who has learned that he cannot control his ability to release bone-spikes. During his conversion to a Morlock, Callisto helped Spyke were able to stop Spears Sports from releasing Power 8, which is quite lethal to mutants, while it has no effect on normal humans.

Later, when Spyke began to lead Morlocks topside to protect mutants from attacking humans, Callisto may have disapproved, but did nothing to stop him. It is unclear whether she retained leadership of the Morlocks.
