Powers & History: Exodus is an extremely powerful psion with abilities that range from telepathy and telekinesis to teleportation and energy-drainage. He can fly, blast from his hands and eyes, and mind-shock his foes. Born hundreds of years ago, du Paris was a friend of Eobar Barrington, the original Black Knight. On one of the Crusades, Bennet gave into his lust for power and was entrapped in one of Apocalypse's strongholds in the Alps. Over the course of time, his latent mutant powers were awakened and enhanced until he was liberated by Magneto and used to bring new recruits to Avalon. After his master's mind was wiped by Xavier, Exodus took control of the Acolytes, still believing that he could hear the voice of the mindless Magnus. During that time period, he claimed to have been able to hear Magneto's voice, though this is unlikely. His reign over the Acolytes came to an end when the refugee from the "Age of Apocalypse" named Holocaust was found outside Avalon. Holocaust woke up and began siphoning off the life energies of the Acolytes, throwing around enough of his energies to destroy Avalon. Exodus and Holocaust were locked in mortal combat as they re-entered Earth's atmosphere, but they both survived.

Exodus eventually made his way back to the Swiss tomb in which he was imprisoned and augmented by Apocalypse, hoping to use the techonology to revitalize his spent self. He was soon drawn to Nate Grey and Cable, who had fought each other and expended a tremendous amount of energy. Exodus fought them both, hoping to drain their energies to feed himself. However, when Nate Grey sensed the stain of Apocalypse's machinations on Exodus, he became enraged, pushing his powers to the maximum and overloading Exodus. Nate then opened a fissure in the ground and threw Exodus in.

Months later, Exodus freed himself from Nate's prison and then came into conflict with the High Evolutionary, who occupied Wundagore Mountain, where Magneto's children were born. Exodus usurped control of the citadel there until he was ousted by Heroes for Hire, Quicksilver, and the Knights of Wundagore. At the conclusion of that battle, Exodus was buried once again inside a mountain. Exodus has claimed to have the power to resurrect dead Acolytes, a claim which appears to be true, given that several dead Acolytes have returned from the dead.*

Recently, Exodus led a new "Brotherhood" on an attack in Philadelphia, which was foiled by the X-Men. Shortly thereafter, with the help of Black Tom Cassidy and Juggernaut (who apparently was infiltrating the group), he attacked the X-Mansion, causing a fair amount of damage in the process. The X-Men fought them off, and Exodus and the Brotherhood were finally pulled into the black hole inside Xorn II's head. It should be noted that Exodus had no facial scars in this encounter.

Exodus was the governor of Australia until his forces began rounding up humans into camps, and they stumbled upon Bruce Banner (the Hulk), though Magneto had warned Exodus to leave the aboriginal tribes alone. The Hulk made his way to Sydney and literally toppled Exodus's government, throwing Exodus down off his palace tower. Exodus apparently survived and Magneto later offered to let him return to his position, but Banner declined to abdicate.

Following M-Day, Exodus collected some new Acolytes and stormed the Helicarrier while the X-Men were there to create a super-Cerebro from Cable's future memories to see where all the mutants had gone. Exodus used the machine and found out that his mission was moot as the X-gene had been removed from humanity. He left with his Acolytes and returned to a secret base, where he reported to his new master, who is apparently Sinister. *OK, so it's a cheap cover-up to a gross continuity error. Go yell at Marvel!
