Real Name: Malcolm ColcordFollowing his convalescence, Malcolm returned to duty, though his horrifically scarred face disgusted everyone who saw it. Still, he performed his duties with excellence, and after many years rose to a position in which he was able to reconstitute the Weapon X Program, with himself serving as "The Director." Among his first recruits were Agent Brent Jackson of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Sabretooth, whom the Director re-implanted with adamantium bones.
The Director then sent Weapon X on a recruiting drive, and managed to keep most of the members brought in, though they tried and failed to recruit Wolverine and Emma Frost. However, the Director's true agenda is known to only a select few, and it is nothing less than the annihilation of the entire mutant race. This extreme position is no doubt bolstered by Malcolm's frequent nightmares about what Wolverine did to him, and it is his evil genius that has made a mutant strike force the action arm of his diabolical plan.
The Director is cruel, vindictive and manipulative, and the true motivations behind his assignments and even his interactions with his subordinates are usually inscrutable, and are meant to play one off the other. It even seems as if he wanted his agents to fail in capturing Wolverine, so he can build up the pressure on the mutant who maimed him and savor his torment before finally bringing down the hammer. More important to the Director is his secret "Neverland" project, which is a concentration and death camp for mutants. The Director brainwashed technomorph Madison Jeffries into creating the robot guards who serve there, and the two of them were to be the only ones who knew of Neverland's existence.
Recently, when Agent Aurora's face was similarly disfigured by Sabretooth, the Director found himself drawn to her, even though before he had rebuffed her overt advances. He helped her through her convalesence and surgeries, taking a break only when his agents found out that his ex-wife intended to remarry. The Director took Sabretooth with him to his ex-wife's home, where he almost shot her for her "betrayal," but refrained upon seeing a picture of them and their kids still on the nighttable. Malcolm's children then entered, not caring what he looked like, and he told them that he still loved them. He warned his wife, however, that there would be no one to have her after him, and took her fiance away (Sabretooth later killed him on the plane ride). Following this excursion, and seeing Aurora's daily improvement in physical therapy, the Director felt cleansed of some of his rage and opted to undergo surgery to replace his damaged face so he could be with Aurora.
However, when the Underground attacked Weapon X, and the Director realized he had been betrayed by Agent Jackson and the other operatives, he became enraged and sliced up his face with a piece of glass from a mirror he had smashed. Cable found him bleeding heavily and telepathically gleaned the secret of Neverland from his mind, and was about to execute him for attempting genocide when Jeffries arrive to save the Director. Jeffries managed to get the Director to safety, but he was bleeding heavily and needed medical attention. His fate is unknown at this point.
