Corsi, Tom

Full Name: Thomas Corsi
Affiliation: Xavier Institute (Faculty)
Previous Affiliations: Generation X (School Faculty), New Mutants (School Staff), NYPD
Alternate-X Versions: None
Codename Etymology: Pronounced kôr-sē, tŏm [First Name: short form of THOMAS: "twin"].
Powers & History: None (human). However, ex-cop Tom Corsi is far from your average Joe. Along with Sharon Friedlander, a nurse, Tom got caught in the magic of the Demon Bear that hunted a Dani Moonstar in the early days of the New Mutants. The two of them were physically changed into Native Americans, as the Demon Bear was a Native American creature. Tom also became stonger than a regular human, although he is not necessarily "super-strong." Finding no real way to return to their former lives and explain their new bodies, both Tom and Sharon stayed with the New Mutants for a while as support staff for the School for Gifted Youngsters. During that time, the White Queen took control of their minds and warped them, until they were set free upon her defeat. When the school was destroyed during Inferno, Tom (and Sharon) went to Muir Island to help out with security. Tom helped defend the island against the Reavers' attack, and wore X-Men body armor for that encounter. Later, after Professor X returned to Earth, Tom (and Sharon) were set up in a school as staff members to keep an eye on a latent mutant. Tom was a bus driver, and it was during one of his runs that the Acolytes attacked. Tom pulled out a shotgun and killed Eric Kleinstock, and held the villains off until the X-Men could arrive. Unfortunately, the school was destroyed, and Tom disappeared from the scene for a while. Then, when the Massachussetts Academy opened its doors to the general population, Sean Cassidy called Tom and offered him the position of gym teacher, with the special task of training the Gen X kids in using their powers. Tom accepted, and became an integral part of the school's faculty. Following the closing of the Massachussetts Academy, Tom relocated to New York and obtained a staff position at the Xavier Institute.
