Codename Etymology: Pronounced chānj'lĭng [Lit., "one that changes" From Middle English, from Old French changier, from Latin cambiare to exchange, probably of Celtic origin; akin to Old Irish camm crooked] A fairy child exchanged for a human child (archaic), a shape-shifter.
Powers & History: Changeling was a talented shape-shifter who was part of Factor Three under the control of the Mutant Master. When the Master was revealed to be an alien, and Changeling found out that he had a terminal illness, he agreed to replace Professor X during the time that Xavier needed to be sequestered in his psi-proof chamber to prepare for the impending Z'nox invasion. He was somehow given telepathic powers by Professor X, and may also have had telekinetic powers. Changeling grew into the role, and devoted himself to filling Xavier's shoes. While still posing as Xavier, Changeling was killed in a battle with Grotesk, the Sub-Human.
