Codename Etymology: Pronounced sə-rēs' [From Old French, cherry, from Late Latin ceresia] A moderate red.
Powers: Projection of solid light into any shape imaginable. Cerise came from the Shi'ar Empire and joined Excalibur for a time. She began to blend in, even starting a romance with Nightcrawler, but she was taken back to the Shi'ar for trial in a case of insubordination. She had disobeyed an order to fire on innocents and caused the destruction of her ship with all hands aboard. She was found guilty, but because of the nature of the original order, sentence was commuted to service to the Empire.

Cerise was given leave to attend Captain Britain and Meggan's wedding, and throughout the ceremony and reception was very catty towards Amanda Sefton, who was back together with Nightcrawler. When she finally got Kurt alone, she kissed him and then slapped him for never coming to check on her, when for all he knew she was languishing in a Shi'ar prison.

During the Maximum Security ordeal (when aliens blocked off Earth and turned it into a prison planet), Cerise returned to Earth and briefly reconnected with Nightcrawler. Kurt professed his feelings for her, but couldn't act on them any longer, as he was studying for the priesthood at that time.
