"Enema of the State, Part 3: ?"
Synopsis & Review by Scurifer Illuminarei. Thanks! The two have an overtly casual conversation while Wade urinates…for about 10 minutes (Some ones been watching too much Austen Powers.) and finally vacates…Sinister: Wash your hands! Wade: Right. Suddenly Kentucky Fried Rooster and Red shows up (by them I mean Cannonball and Siryn). They try to formulate a plan of action but then a holographic Sinister head says “Barbecue anyone?” Sinister cooks up a feast and goes over in bullet points the House of M universe. Then he reveals he drugged their food of which Wade has had more than he should be able to stomach (Wade: Get into mah belly ah’m bigger than yeh). Sinister thinks he’s a mutant because of his healing factor but Wade points out that he’s something else. Sinister then takes them to a teleporter bay and research lab hoping to dissect everyone later. Sam and Theresa leave the scene and Sinnie has the sudden urge to use Wade’s healing factor to age Cable to an adult with some unexpected results. Though he doesn’t age he suddenly goes god-like on everyone giving Wade all the opportunity (Well he tried about three times) to snatch baby Cable and bodyslide out. He finally succeeds and Sinister exclaims “What about us” in more than three words. Review: This connects with the new House of M altered reality. It was bound to happen though. There are some Superman parallels here with a simple farmboy being groomed by the malevolent Mr. Sinister into some picture perfect Messiah. This reminds of what was explored in Max Comics’ Supreme Power when the American Government tried to brainwash the alien demigod Hyperion into their personal guardian, lap-dog and messiah. Wade’s superficial intelligence is explored a lot here, of all characters I’ve seen thus far a character like Wade is probably the most believable and realistic. While everyone else has these sexless, highfalutin and self-righteous personalities almost bland and humourless and often very angtsy demeanours not to mention endlessly inane rhetoric Wade is only ‘real’ character. He swears, he curses, he talks about porn and all these average stuff and as a person he’s more real than all the other spandex clad, silicon implanted, steroid pumping comic strip characters. The only other character who comes close to this is probably Jubilee but they take it a little too far or not far enough with her character from time to time. I’m impressed with Patrick, he even remembered to patch up Warren’s wing from last time as Deadpool had cut it off so he put visible metal bandages and staples.
