Powers & History: Bloodscream was a sailor in Sir Francis Drake's armada when he was mortally wounded in battle. A necromancer offered to save him, but doing so transformed him into a type of vampire, who needs to drain others' lifeforces to survive. Once he touches a victim the blood begins to flow out of the pores for him to absorb, and leaving a mark. Bloodscream also has a mental link with those from whom he's fed. He can look normal (pretty much) but can also transform into a toothy, clawed killing machine. He can only be killed by alien metal and only the blood of a man who didn't age can cure his condition. His claws apparently excrete some sort of poison, which is deadly even to Wolverine. In addition, Bloodscream can exert mental control over lower-order animals and those of similar mental capacity.

Once known as Bloodsport, he worked with Roughhouse as enforcers for General Coy on Madripoor, which is how he came to meet Logan. Bloodscream later allied with Belasco to open a dimensional portal but changed his mind when the X-Men showed him that Belasco was not planning to stop an alien invasion, but instead to help the N'Garai re-conquer Earth. He apparently sacrificed himself to close the portal but somehow returned to Earth, and Wolverine sliced him up with the Yashida Honor Sword, which should have killed Bloodscream, since it was forged from an asteroid (alien metal).

However, Bloodscream returned yet again, and tricked Albert and Elsie-Dee into helping him find his nemesis Wolverine, telling the androids that Logan was his friend and in much danger. Much later, Bloodscream was enthralled by the evil Mauvais. Mauvais had Bloodscream get Vermin out of his asylum, after which they began picking off homeless people, which again attracted the attention of Wolverine. During their ensuing fight Wolverine chopped off Bloodscream's hands, temporarily ending his control of Vermin. Mauvais seems to have restored Bloodscream, and the vampire continued to work for the cannibalistic Frenchman until he was sentenced to exile in the dimension of the Great Beasts. What became of Bloodscream is unknown.
