Blaquesmith

Affiliation: Clan Askani
Alternate-X Versions: None
Codename Etymology: Pronounced blăk'smĭth' [From From the black color of iron]; One who forges iron (sic).
Powers: The only man to ever truly learn the ways of the Askani, Blaquesmith is apparently a high order telepath and telekinetic, with other more mysterious abilities that are probably related to time-travel. He is also a techno-wizard, probably on the level of Forge, but with access to technology from 2000 years in the future. In learning the ways of the Askani and accepting his role as Cable's mentor, Blaquesmith was said to have undergone great physical changes that deformed his body, but left him mentally powerful. However, recent revelations about the early days of the Askani show that Blaquesmith may have been born in his current physical shape, and that he was not even considered a mutant (Phoenix LS). Still, the Mother Askani sensed great psionic potential in him, and began to train his mind in her ways. In our time period, Blaquesmith lived in a rusty ship in Baltimore Harbor, which concealed much of his hi-tech futuristic weaponry, as well as a supersonic flying craft. He was thought to have been killed by Onslaught, but survived to return to mentor Cable after his powers were severely limited by a psychic shockwave. Blaquesmith set up shop with Cable in Hell's Kitchen, and continues to monitor the Chosen One, who sometimes annoys him by appearing not to take his role so seriously.

During a period of time following Cable's expulsion of the T-O virus, a Russian mutant took Blaquesmith's identity and convinced Cable to help him rescue another mutant. Where Blaquesmith is today is unknown.
