Codename Etymology: Pronounced är-kā'dē-ə [from Latin arcus "arched"]; An isolated region of ancient Greece inhabited by pastoral citizens.
Powers: Reality-warping abilities, for which she was taken at a young age by the Damocles Foundation. The Foundation, which was looking to re-start the evolution of the Deviants, experimented on Arcadia to increase and control her powers. Finally after years of torture, Arcadia escaped with the help of Ulysses Dragonblood, the brother of the Foundation's director Odysseus Indigo, and a more ethical Deviant. After a while, the Foundation's strike force, the Sword tracked them down, and Arcadia and Ulysses went on the run. When they reached Kentucky, they ran into Cannonball, who was on leave from the X-Men to visit his family. Sam tried to help, but was overcome as well. Luckily, X-Force arrived to help, and drove off the Sword. However, in the confusion of the battle, Arcadia didn't know who to trust and thought X-Force were enemies, so she transmuted Dani Moonstar into an immobile substance. After the battle, Arcadia restored Dani to her true form, but Dani's powers changed to control cosmic forces, just like Arcadia. Arcadia and Ulysses struck out on their own, but eventually met up with Sledge who had a history of fighting the Foundation. Sledge sent them to stop the Deviants from resurrecting a Celestial Template, which would re-start their evolution. Arcadia and Dani (who had also come with X-Force to stop the resurrection) were able to destroy the Template with their cosmic powers, as well as stop Selene from absconding with it. Arcadia went her own way again, but began to have nightmares about a bear pursuing her. Soon the bear became real, and when she reached San Francisco looking for X-Force, it was gigantic, and was wreaking havoc on the city. When Dani saw the bear, she recognized it as the Demon Bear that had haunted her when she was younger and realized that Arcadia must have accessed some of her memories in their last encounter. She and Arcadia were then swallowed by the bear. Inside, Arcadia's doll Mary Weather guided them to the truth about the bear and their connection to each other. Arcadia and Dani pooled their powers to disassemble the bear, but when it was done, Arcadia had turned into the Queen of the Star Swords, a villain from her childhood fantasies and a powerful version of herself from another dimension. As the Queen, Arcadia wore armor and wielded floating energy swords that were able to transmorph whomever they hit, or teleport them according to the Queen's wishes. The Queen called four versions of Dani from other timelines to serve her and began creating a citadel that linked to all the realities in San Francisco Bay. Dani and X-Force traveled through the citadel, visiting other distorted versions of themselves until Dani finally stopped the Queen with the help of one of the other Danis and the Psi-Mitar provided by a Cable from another dimension. Arcadia returned to normal and went off with Ulysses again.
