Real Name: UnknownArcade first encountered the X-Men when he captured them as part of a contract paid for by Black Tom and Juggernaut. He displayed his usual modus operandi here, capturing the girlfriends of the X-Men first in order to lure them to Murderworld. Each team member was put into his or her own deathtrap, but the most insidious was the brainwashing of Colossus into "The Proletarian" by one of the androids. The X-Men eventually destroyed the control center and Arcade freed everyone.
Some time afterwards, Arcade insulted Dr. Doom, who captured the assassin and held him hostage. Ms. Locke "recruited" the X-Men to find her employer, and eventually Arcade was released into their custody. Arcade escaped and set up shop again, first playing with Colossus and Shadowcat, and then trying to kill Judith Rassendyll, a European heiress, though the latter attempt was foiled by Nightcrawler. It should be noted that Arcade's robots are so realistic that Mystique once rented Murderworld to run training simulations against his X-Men doppelgangers, and even knowing that the Rogue she saw was a fake, she still hesitated to kill it.
In the early days of Excalibur, Arcade set out to settle the score with Captain Britain, and captured his former girlfriend Courtney Ross. Excalibur ventured into a British Murderworld and rescued Ross, confronting Arcade and sending him to the authorities.
A few years later, Arcade was hired by Sinister and Mojo to pit Shatterstar against X-Treme, and then again by an unknown party to pit Shatterstar against Domino. His interest in Domino persisted through another failed run through Murderworld as well. Following that, Arcade got involved with Black Air, but messed up one of their scenarios, so he lured Colossus and Meggan, then of Excalibur, to a Murderworld built under France's Dudleyworld amusement park. He managed to convince Colossus to help him fake his death, so that Black Air would believe he was gone. However, it seems Black Air was not fooled.
In one of his latest "adventures" he framed Wolverine for a series of murders in London, having projected his own murder of long-time partner Ms. Locke onto Logan. Eventually he was psychically "fried" by Mastermind III, whom he had tricked into working for him. Arcade has appeared since then, but at least once it was a robot doppelganger, one of many frequently used by the assassin, so it is unclear what his mental status is, and whether he has escaped from prison or not.
More recently, Arcade (seemingly the real one) was hired by Agency X to evaluate
the theme park they received as payment for a job, and estimate the cost of
refurbishing it. He found Alex Hayden bleeding to
death from bullet wounds, and used his pen to save Alex's life with an emergency
tracheotomy.
