Synopsis & Review by Nick Summers: Thanks!
Synopsis: Xi'an Coy Manh is introduced to the United States President. The Presidents argues about her age and the fact that she's not even American, but Xi'an states that she was born in America. The guy next to her informs that she is one of their Black Ops trainees and about to enroll into Fury's Beta team in a couple of months. The President still isn't sure about this, but Xi'an simply tells him to just relax and look right at her. He does so, and she enters his mind.

At Xavier's, Cyclops thinks in himself and Jean approaches him. She says hat she is yelling at her, in his mind. Scott explains that he is worried about her. Since she killed the anti-mutant men a couple days ago, her powers went out of control, but she's been helped by the Professor. Jean tries to defend herself by saying they wanted to kill them as well, but Scott says he simply also wants to help her out, Jean says he is and hugs him, but has her doubts somehow.

Next, the team is briefed by Xavier about a new mutant. She is a mutant who's about to go public, and some kind of performer and also plans to "out" herself to the media, simply for the attention. Xavier wants some of his students to go talk to her about going public and ask how she plans her future, maybe even coach her a little. He points out Scott, whom Xavier thinks to be good at this sort of things. Xavier reveals this mutant's name is Dazzler, and Kitty asks what kind of music she plays. Skip over to a danceclub, where Dazzler perfoms with her band "Skrtics" in a metal/punk kind of music style. Scott's dazzled by it and doesn't know what to say, but Kitty likes it.

After the show, Cyclops, Kitty and Colossus go talk to Dazzler and her band in an alley. Kitty asks for her autograph, Dazzler signs by spitting on a paper. Scott explains that they represent the X-Men, and Dazzler can't believe it. Scott tells her they want to talk to her about he future plans. Dazzler gets mad and says she already said no to mutant groups and doesn't need "this mutant crap", only a record contract, just like she told all the other mutant groups. Cyclops asks if she knew who they were, but Dazzler doesn't know and tells them to just go away, and they do. Back at Xavier's, Storm trains her powers and makes a little thundercloud from wich a flash comes from and puts a hole in her Physics book. Storm, overjoyed she pulled this off, flies over to Beast's room to tell him the news, but his room is empty. Storm gets angry and big thunderclouds appear above Xavier's.

Skip to the White House's Situation Room, the only guarantee psi-proof room, meaning no psychic mutant like Xavier or Marvel Girl can come in. The President asks why Nick Fury isn't present, but this meeting is sorta about him. The Director of Intelligence informs the President that with recent attacks in New York City and on the X-Mansion without any permission from the White House, people have reason to believe that the President's being mindcontrolled by Xavier. He had Xi'An enter the President's mind to find out if he was being controlled or not and didn't found anything. The President doesn't like that they just pull of conclusions like this, but the Director is trying to say that it's their relationship with Xavier that worries them, the peaceful existence is ok, but his level-10 psychic abilitie is an issue and the recent upgrades on his team. Plus also of course Weapon X, Code Name Wolverine, who has gone crazy again last week in Bromlet, South Carolina, and 387 people died (last ish). The reports from the CDC said it was a chemical accident, but the reports didn't come from CDC, but from S.H.I.E.L.D. They then however tell that they believe Wolverine didn't kill all those people, but was simply sent there to "clean it up". They believe it was Nick Fury who quietly send him there, but don't know it for sure, because if you add it all up Xavier's mutants may not be the mutants the President should be in bed with. The President says he's very uncomfortable by this situation, and the Director states that he needs new mutants. The President asks for suggestions, and Emma Frost comes walking in! Three other men (probably mutants) stand behind her, and she says she has a plan that might interest him.

Review: Wow, this issue was simply FANTASTIC! There's absolutely nothing bad to say about it, only good things. Finally, the X-Men again. And they all get something to do in this issue, though not everybody particualary says or do something much, but hey, they're there and that's already enough. Even Warren was present (without saying anything, though). First, Xi'An. It's grately how they introduced her into the book: not a potential new member to Xavier's at all, but working for the government for quite a few years, apparently, and getting promoted as well. She was absolutely fabulous and nothing like I suspected she would be. I thought her to simply roll into Xavier's, but yeay, she ain't. Not that it would be a bad thing if she would though. And how she uses her powers is greatly drawn. I love her, definately want to see her again (hey, she even looked hot heheheh).

Next up, Cyclops. I understand that he's worried about his girlfriend, but this doesn't mean he has to avoid her or anything. It just shows how much these two love each other and hey, now they even talk about how Jean killed those people, even if they were attacking the team. Not like back at Weapon X, where she killed that Professor but she had to, but they just hugged while they cried. That was great as well, but really shoulda been pulled out a bit more after Weapon X was over, that's what I think of it.

And Dazzler, wow! What the devil way to introduce this singer! She totally looked like a punk, more like a cross-over with Lila Cheney, and then made it out even worse. But I'm glad that she isn't a villain as Marvel tried to make us think she possible could be, but she's not a real good person as well, giving her more character. Good. Wow, sure a lot of new characters this issue. This is excellent, and nontheless they only appear on a few pages, they're persona are greatly worked out by Bendis. He rocks this issue! And then with the President's X-Men problem. Hey, that was a bit annoying, I really would have liked to punch that Director of Intelligence guy in the face, but hey, I guess it's only normal if you live in a world like that to worrie. And then, wow, Emma Frost came on rollin' in! Now we have to wonder for a month if she is going to be a good gal or a bad, but that's ok. Not everything has to be told in once, more pleasure for us. And I guess those three men behind her are Cannonball, Sunspot and Pete Wisdom, because I think in a way they look like them. But they're names aren't told just yet, so not sure if they are who I think they are. It could be, seeing that they were New Mutants in the real universe (but not Pete Wisdom of course) and the tile is New Mutants. I also wonder if maybe Frost's team will be called "New Mutants" or "Hellions"... Interesting, interesting...
