Synopsis: A boy wakes up in his bed and is late for school. He hurries down stairs and can't find his mother anywhere. He worries and finds his mother's clothes simply lying on the floor. He worries about it for a while and then decides to leave her a note that he left for school. As he goes outside, he finds out he's alone and nobody else is on the street. He goes a street further and then finally finds some people and is relieved. As he walks away, he doesn't notice that all the people behind him burn up! Once at school, the boy's girlfriend walks up on him asking madly why he didn't call her back. The boy explains he isn't allowed to use the phone after 10 and then his girlfriend stares in fear. The boy looks back and notices everybody burning up but him! As he turns back, his girlfriend is also burning up! The boy runs away. Night falls, and a man enters a cave. The man puts up a fire and the man is revealed to be Wolverine. Wolverine goes deeper into the cave and the boy orders him to go away, or else he'll die. Wolverine isn't impressed by it and opens a beer. The boy comes out from the dark and recognizes Wolverine as one of the X-Men. Wolverine explains to the boy that he isn't going to hurt him due to his healing factor, and Logan says he found out about him thanks to Cerebro. The boy then realizes he must be a mutant too. Wolverine says he is, and the boy then finally realizes it was him killing all the people with his mutant powers. Wolverine confirms. The boy asks how many people he killed but Wolverine says he doesn't want to know that and gives the boy a beer. The boy says he wants to know, and Logan says 265 people, maybe even more. Logan explains his powers manifested just last night, when the boy hit puberty. Logan then takes out a note on wich he wrote down that the boy's mutation: specifically it's radiation mutation and a series of toxins and acidlike poisons, making everything in a radius around the boy, basically meaning that all the boy does is kill organic tissues, vaporize them. The boy can't take it and Wolverine apologizes for it. The boy says he can't live like this and Logan says he knows. The boy regrets some things he did in his live and to enjoy it more, he never even did it with his girlfriend. Wolverine explains that if the government finds out a mutant did all this, even by accident, they're gonna roll them all up for good and they can't allow that. The boy then realizes that maybe with one more right chromosome or whatever he might turn out and make it into the X-Men. Wolverine says that might could have happened and tells the boy to finish his beer, and Logan then kills the boy. Review: Hmph, this was a stupid issue. I don't get the point of all this. Sure, it's another new mutant and once more Wolverine takes the center. It makes sense that he takes it with the boy's mutant killing powers and him having the healing factor and stuff, but I can't take any more Wolverine-solo issues in Ultimate. The boy mutant is boring as well, I didn't like anything about him. People over the Internet even suggest that he might be Alex Summers due to his blond hair, but on the note he ended it with a letter "J", so that can't be. Bendis also already confirmed on the "ComicXfan" site that this isn't the case and Alex is still left to be introduced later in the arc. Feeeew. Guess the only good thing about this issue was the simply gorgeous art. I really love Finch's artwork and stared and drewed all over each page in the comic, nonetheless the story was boring. I'm going to end this review simply by saying that this issue wasn't worthy of the monthly waiting and sincerely hope that next issue will be better and Wolverine won't be in it.
