Synopsis & Review by Nike Skylark:
Synopsis: A bunch of buildings in Chicago are blowing up and the punks who did it (Brotherhood members) are driving away when they are stopped by who else??? The Ultimate X-Men!!! Colossus, all armored up, stops the car as Iceman lifts the car into the air and Storm creates a rainstorm over the buildings that are now on fire.

Next, the X-Men are hiding out in a family's house in connecticut, Marvel Girl masking their presence with her telepathy. Jean seems really upset and she tells Kitty how terrible she's been feeling since that whole Phoenix thing. She's not sure that Wolverine told her the truth about what happened to Scott, either...

Cut to Professor Xavier being interrogated by General Fury about the whereabouts of Magneto. Professor X tells him he doesn't know where he is and the guards bring Nightcrawler to the cell next to the Professor's. They plan to breach Nightcrawler's mental shields, as they have failed to penetrate Xavier's.

Later, the X-Men are in the kitchen of that house they are staying at in Connecticut, talking about what they are going to do. Jean's tapping into the Phoenix force, and she's starting to gain access to Wolverine's mind. Suddenly, they are all interrupted by a hologram of Magneto, telling them his appearance is possible because of his newest resident genius: Forge. Magneto hints that Forge is making some doomsday weapon for him, invites the X-Men to join his side and leaves, giving them 7 days to make a choice.

Review: Hmm... I'm not enjoying this particually story line as much as i've enjoyed the ones in the past but I love the opening scene of this issue, with the X-Men going after those punks who planted the bombs in the buildings. I think it was done very nicely, most of the team doing their part.

The scene with Kitty and Jean talking was written very well. Jean talking to Kitty about the whole phoenix thing and how it's making her think more about the Cyclops/Wolverine thing and what she should do about it. She's thinking that Wolverine left behind Cyclops purposely (which i'm pretty sure what he did do, it's been a while since i've read that particular issue).
