Once Captain America was revived, Hank became jealous of the time Jan was spending with him. An argument broke out, resulting in blows being exchanged. Wasp shrank and tried to get away, but Hank sprayed her with insecticide and used his pheromone-controlled ants to swarm her. Coming to his senses, Hank fled, and Jan used what little strength she had left to revert back to normal size. Luckily, paramedics arrived in time, and after a recovery in the hospital, Jan returned to serving on the Ultimates roster. Things went from bad to worse when Jan was captured by the Chitauri (Skrull), aliens who were behind the Nazis and planned to restart their conquering ways. Fortunately, before the head Chitauri could absorb her abilities, the Ultimates arrived, and Jan escaped to fight another day.
When the Ultimates were tasked to apprehend the X-Men following Magneto's return, Cap and Fury revealed that they knew of Jan's mutation, and it didn't matter to them. In fact, her presence was essential when Professor X used his power to black out all human minds and recording devices in the area. Being a mutant, Jan was unaffected by the wave and was able to get close to Xavier and sting him into unconsciousness.
Jan separated from Hank, and soon started a relationship with Captain America, who had confronted Pym and beat him up as payback for hitting Jan. Months later, Jan saw Hank again, but Steve stepped in and intimidated him away, somewhat to Jan's chagrin.
